BlackBerry Torch 9810 Review (Yes a review on this blog..)

I don’t often post reviews on this blog for the simple reason that I only want to review phones that I actually use. The problem with this is that unless you’re a major blog the chances of a phone manufacturer sending you a sample are pretty slim! Luckily my girlfriend recently bought the BlackBerry Torch 9810 from a site in the link (some great deals on there by the way) and I’ve had a chance to play with it and come up with an opinion.

Let me start with some of the things that I really like about the Torch 9810. If you read my blog in the past you’ll know that I HATE smart phones that have a terrible battery life. I think that it’s perfectly possible for a smart phone to have a good battery life, but virtually no research is being done in how to extend it. All I’m asking for is 48 hours of battery, is that so much to ask? Anyway, the battery life of the 9810 is fantastic in comparison to others.

I was also really impressed by the quality of the screen. Considering RIM aren’t well known for producing touch screens, the 9810 really works well. Although as other reviews have pointed out, I found that video buttons a little fiddly to use (which is a shame because the rest of the setup is good).

There are a few minor problems. The loudspeaker is pretty poor, and there isn’t any flash support. Most people won’t be too bothered about this though, as they don’t make much of a difference to the everyday usage of the phone.
